Biography of Anthony "Anton" Joseph Nowowiejski:

Anton was a tool and die maker. He arrived in New York on July 27, 1905 aboard the SS Patricia from Hamburg, Germany. He listed his last place of residence as Ostrowy. He became a naturalized citizen on Sept 10, 1913.

     Felix was born on 19 August 1915 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States. He was the son of Anthony "Anton" Joseph Nowowiejski and Katherine "Kate" Halter. He married Christine R. Elizabeth Betty Continenza, 85, of Whitehall passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Continenza. Elizabeth was born October 16, 1928 in Cleveland, OH and she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Pauline (Jelinek) Halter. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Whitehall. Elizabeth was a member of many social clubs, including the Fogelsville Fire Co., Macungie Veteran of Foreign Wars post #9264, Woodlawn Fire Co., Mercantile of Emmaus and the Knights of Columbus, Allentown.      Arthur was born on 28 May 1926 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.¹ He was the son of Felix Majewski and Emily Amelia Halter. He married Clara Elizabeth "Peggy" Barr, daughter of John William Barr and Mildred Marie Allen, on 30 September 1950 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.² Arthur died on 11 December 1992 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States, at age 66.³ His body was buried on 16 December 1992 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.⁴

     Josef was born on 13 December 1830 at Radobytce 29, Pisek, Bohemia, Austria.^1,2 He was the son of Antonin Hubert and Viktorie Faušková. He married Marie Krejčová, daughter of Václav Krejčí and Kateřina Hůlešová, on 26 February 1867 at Mirotice, Pisek, Bohemia, Austria.³ Josef died on 8 July 1902 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States, at age 71.⁴ His body was buried on 10 July 1902 at Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.^5,6

Biography of Josef Hubert:

At the age of 58, Josef sold his farm in the Radobytce, Pisek District of Bohemia, and with his family immigrated to America. Josef had served in the army of Franz Josef of Austria-Hungary. His two sons were becoming of military age and would be required to also serve in the army. Rather than allow them to serve he immigrated to America. He arrived at the Port of Baltimore, Maryland on 2 Nov 1887 aboard the Steamship Weser accompanied by his six children. His wife, Marie, had become ill as they were leaving Bohemia and did not accompany her family. She came to America a short time later. The family did not stay in Baltimore but came to Cleveland, Ohio, where they permanently settled.

Josef was a farmer in Bohemia but worked as a laborer upon his arrival in Cleveland. He is listed as a laborer in the stove works in the 1900 Census. On 13 Oct 1892, Josef, declared his intention to become a citizen of the United State to the Court of Common Pleas in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. On 9 Sep 1896 he petitioned that same court to be admitted as a naturalized citizen of the United States and was granted citzenship by the court on 16 Oct 1896.

Josef died at age 72, on 8 July 1902 of pluritis. He is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio with his wife, Marie.
