(--?--) (--?--) died circa 1795 at Woodford Co., Kentucky; The death of Light Townsend's first wife, likely occurred a year or so prior to the marriage with his second wife in June 1796. Widows with children did not go long without remarrying. Thus a death date for his first wife has been selected as circa 1795 Woodford Co., Kentucky where the family was living in at that time.

Delilah is the traditional name of the wife of Light Townsend. Marie Townsend Butler in her work "The Townsends of Marlboro - 1764-1980" indicates that the name of Light's wife is Delilah Pouncey, "according to a family history kept by her nephew, Asa."¹ We have not been able to find any evidence to support either of these names.

     Abele was born circa 1899 at Italy.¹ She married Alfonso Scarazzo, son of Ceasar Scarazzo and Philomena Nepa, circa 1920.

     Ada (--?--) was born circa 1902 at Arkansas. She married Henry Barker.

     Ada was born on 16 July 1837. She married Elias Bradley Mills, .¹ Ada died 12 Mary 1906 at Suwannee Co., Florida. Her body was buried at Philadelphia Cemetery, Suwannee Co., Florida.²

     She married Edward Smithwick, son of Hugh Smithwick and Elizabeth (--?--), circa 1694 at Chowan Precinct, North Carolina.¹ Africa died circa 1703.

     Alderine was born on 23 November 1878. She married Jasper Johnson, son of Francis Marion Johnson and Julia Ann Sullivan. Alderine died on 12 March 1956 at Suwannee Co., Florida, at age 77. Her body was buried at Philadelphia Cemetery, Suwannee Co., Florida.¹

     Alice was born circa 1680. She married John Duggan, .¹ Alice died circa 1740 at Bertie Co., North Carolina.
