     James was born on 27 September 1835 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ He was the son of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins. He married Nancy L. Shamblin, daughter of James M. Shamblin and Elmira Holder, on 25 December 1859 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹

     Charles was born on 2 November 1837 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ He was the son of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins. He married Mary F. Price, on 28 May 1861 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ Charles died on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg, Washington, Maryland, United States, at age 24.² His body was buried in September 1862 at Antietam Battlfield, Sharpsburg, Maryland, United States.

She married Gideon Mayo, son of Burrell Mayo and Mary Reaves, on 25 December 1856 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ She married Charles C. Goree, son of John C. Goree and Mary Jane Thornton, on 4 June 1870 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.² Charlotte died on 14 February 1898 at Freestone, Texas, United States, at age 58.²

     Lavisa was born on 22 March 1844 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ She was the daughter of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins. She married William A. Goree, son of John C. Goree and Mary Jane Thornton, on 10 February 1867 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ Lavisa died in August 1908 at Hardeman, Texas, United States, at age 64.

     She married Charles R. Hardie, son of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins, on 28 May 1861 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹

     Gideon was born circa 1832 at Georgia, United States. He was the son of Burrell Mayo and Mary Reaves. He married Charlotte Ann Hardie, daughter of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins, on 25 December 1856 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ Gideon died on 31 May 1862 at Seven Pines, Henrico, Virginia, United States. His body was buried in 1862 at Richmond, Henrico, Virginia, United States.²

     William A. Goree was the son of John C. Goree and Mary Jane Thornton. He married Lavisa Clarinda Hardie, daughter of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins, on 10 February 1867 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.¹ William died at Texas, United States.

     Sarah was born on 12 April 1798 at North Carolina, United States.¹ She was the daughter of William Murphy and Mary Edwards. She married Theophilus Hardie, son of Allen Hardie and Martha Duggan, circa 1816 at Washington, Georgia, United States. Sarah died on 27 October 1876 at Stewart, Georgia, United States, at age 78. Her body was buried in October 1876 at Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Stewart, Georgia, United States.²

According to the "History of Stewart County Vol II" Sarah was the daughter of William Mulkey/Murphy
of Washington County, Georgia. Sarah's maiden name was Murphy as proved by the Will and estate papers of William Murphy of Washington County, Georgia as well as being listed in the "Haygood Family Bible". [Personal communication from Donna Sarchet of Plainview, Texas 6 Jan 1993]

After the death of her first husband, Theophilus Harkie, Sarah married a neighbor, the Rev James Griffin, Sr. on 9 October 1835. Sarah and James Griffin had three children, Alexander b. 10 Aug 1836, Catharine Jane b. 12 Aug 1837 James Alamo, b. 1840. The Rev. Griffin died about 1843 and he is buried in the Old Union Church Cemetery in Stewart County. On 6 March 1837, Anselm L. Evans, a member of this church and probably a deacon, was made guardian of six of Sarah's minor children.

     Martha was born on 13 August 1818 at Washington, Georgia, United States.² She was the daughter of Theophilus Hardie and Sarah Murphy. She married Michael Jacob Parker, son of Ica Parker and Nancy Pope, on 12 December 1837 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.²

     Elizabeth was born on 11 March 1824 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ She was the daughter of Theophilus Hardie and Sarah Murphy. She married Nathaniel Bartlett, on 23 December 1838 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.² She married Green Berry Hurley Sr., on 8 April 1855 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.² Elizabeth died circa 1857 at Stewart, Georgia, United States.² Her body was buried circa 1857 at Union Church Cemetery, Stewart, Georgia, United States.³

     Theophilus was born circa 1825 at Washington, Georgia, United States.² He was the son of Theophilus Hardie and Sarah Murphy. He married Elizabeth (--?--), circa 1849 at Georgia, United States.
     Biography of Theophilus Hardie Jr.:

The History of Stewart County indicates that Theophilus Jr. was unmarried and died before 1850. There is, however, a Theophilus Hardy age 25, born in Georgia and an Elizabeth Hardy age 20, born in Georgia enumerated with the Larkin Family in the 1850 Census of Stewart County. This is quite possibly the son of Theophilus
Hardie (1780-1833) who married an Elizabeth.
