He was buried at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, Los Angeles Co., California.

     William Alva Jerry Spencer was born on 15 December 1897 at Bourbon Co., Kansas. He was the son of William Riley Spencer and Lydia Terrissa Culwell. William Alva Jerry Spencer died on 18 June 1971 at Fullerton, Orange Co., California, at age 73. He was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Santiago Cyn, Orange Co., California.

     William Riley Spencer was born on 2 April 1858 at Athensville, Green Co., Illinois. He married Lydia Terrissa Culwell, daughter of William Delaney Culwell and Mary Sample, on 17 December 1884 at Greene Co., Illinois. William Riley Spencer died on 17 September 1943 at Morgan Co., Illinois, at age 85. He was buried at Youngblood Cemetery, Nortonville, Morgan Co., Illinois.
