     Reuben Hillard Sample was born on 13 November 1894 at Morgan Co., Illinois. He was the son of Washington Sample and Mary Fanny Miller. Reuben Hillard Sample married Lora Alice Wood on 23 February 1916 at Morgan Co., Illinois. Reuben Hillard Sample died on 27 January 1973 at Madison Co., Illinois, at age 78. He was buried at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery, Godfrey, Madison Co., Illinois.
     
Biography of Reuben Hillard Sample:

Owned and operated the Sample Grocery Store in Otterville, Jersey County, Illinois, for 22 years, retiring in 1958.

Medical Certificate of Death No. 4016 issued in Madison County, Illinois, January 29, 1973, gives date of death as January 27, 1973, birthdate as November 13, 1894, and parents were Washington Sample and Mary Miller. Copy in the possession of Robert W. Ridenour.1
