     Gideon was born circa 1832 at Georgia. He was the son of Burrell Mayo and Mary Reaves. He married Charlotte Ann Hardie, daughter of William M. Hardie and Lavisa Cornelia Perkins, on 25 December 1856 at Stewart Co., Georgia.1 Gideon died on 31 May 1862 at Seven Pines, Henrico Co., Virginia. His body was buried in 1862 at Richmond, Henrico Co., Virginia.2

Draper, , on 3 January 1878 at Freestone Co., Texas.1 She married James Elbert Hardie, son of James Eldridge Hardie and Nancy L. Shamblin, on 28 April 1888 at Stewart Co., Georgia. Mary died on 14 February 1936 at Freestone Co., Texas, at age 76. Her body was buried in February 1936 at Shanks Cemetert, Freestone Co., Texas.
