He married Sarah Emma Sims, daughter of Minor Andrew Sims and Clyde Sullivan, on 1 August 1948 at Ousley, Lowndes, Georgia, United States.1 William died on 5 October 1992 at age 72. His body was buried in October 1992 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Quitman, Brooks, Georgia, United States.
