     Stella Emory Townsend was born on 13 March 1870 at Florida. She was the daughter of Charles Townsend and Annie America Summerlin. Stella Emory Townsend married Archie Americus Bishop on 5 July 1886 at Jefferson Co., Florida.¹ Stella Emory Townsend died on 21 December 1940 at Aucilla, Jefferson Co., Florida, at age 70. She was buried circa 24 December 1940 at Elizabeth Cemetery, Aucilla, Jefferson Co., Florida.

     Stephen Townsend was born on 17 January 1800 at Marlboro Co., South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Thomas Townsend and Elizabeth Stapleton.¹ Stephen Townsend married Sabrina A. Robison on 27 February 1827 at Jefferson Co., Florida.¹ Stephen Townsend died on 1 October 1851 at Colorado Co., Texas, at age 51.

     Susan A. Townsend was born on 27 November 1886 at Alachua Co., Florida.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Franklin Townsend and Maria E. May. Susan A. Townsend married Quinton M. Gornto in 1909.¹ Susan A. Townsend died on 8 February 1961 at age 74.¹

     Susan Caroline Townsend was born on 10 February 1847 at Tattnall Co., Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of William Riley Townsend and Dorinda Stafford. Susan Caroline Townsend died on 23 August 1854 at McIntosh Co., Georgia, at age 7.

Temperance died on 13 January 1856 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina, at age 22.² Her body was buried on 16 January 1856 at Moravian Cem., Old Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.³
     
Biography of Temperance Townsend:

Temperance left Florida about 1854 to live with her Uncle Light Townsend of Marlboro District South Carolina. On the first of August 1855 she enrolled with her cousins Harriet and Amelia (Daughters of Light) in the Salem Female Academy at Old Salem in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. "Since then she has continued with us in her usual state of health which was very feeble and precarious at all times, her constitution having been greatly weakened by frequent and long continued attacks of intermittent fever whilst living in Florida. ... She was a member of the Methodist Church, having joined that communion of faith whilst still residing in Florida. By her correct gentle and Christian walk and conversation, during the few months she has been with us, she proved herself to live consistently with the good profession she made. She was by nature a very gentle and retiring disposition." ["Brief Memoir of our departed pupil Temperance Townsend" - Moravian Archives - Winston-Salem, North Carolina] She became very ill and passed away 13 Jan 1856 at age 22. She is buried in the single womans section of God's Acre (Moravian Cemetery) in Old Salem, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her gravestone reads "Temperance Townsend / of / Madison, Florida / Born June 26, 1837 / Departed Jan 13, 1856. (The schools records of her birth date that were used to mark the gravestone differ by 3 years and one day with the record of her birth in the Allen Townsend Family Bible. The Bible record was chosen as being correct.).

     Temperance was born circa 1855 at Madison Co., Florida. She was the daughter of Israel Townsend and Julia Ann Townsend. She married G. W. Sessions, , on 8 July 1885 at Madison Co., Florida.²

     Theresa was born circa 1866 at Madison Co., Florida.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Townsend and Martha M. E. Rykard. Theresa died before 1910.
