     Josephine was born on 14 November 1867 at Madison Co., Florida. She was the daughter of Joseph Townsend and Gracie Brown. She married William Hardee Goodbread, son of John M. B. Goodbread and Julia Ann Hardee, on 24 December 1885 at Madison, Madison Co., Florida.² Josephine died on 13 May 1931 at Arcadia, DeSoto Co., Florida, at age 63. Her body was buried in May 1931 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Madison, Madison Co., Florida.
     
Biography of Josephine Townsend:

Josephine was a very small woman, never weighed over 95 pounds and not five feet tall, had premature grey hair, really snow white.

     Josephine L. Townsend was born on 7 April 1858 at Alachua Co., Florida.¹ She was the daughter of Noah Townsend and Sarah "Sallie" Gillette. Josephine L. Townsend married Reece Ormond on 9 January 1877 at Alachua Co., Florida.² Josephine L. Townsend died on 27 April 1928 at Alachua Co., Florida, at age 70.² She was buried at Townsend Cemetery, Hawthorne, Alachua Co., Florida.³

     Joshua M. H. Townsend was born circa 1834 at South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Joel Wilson Townsend and Mary Acker.

     Josiah Townsend was born circa 1861 at Hillsborough Co., Florida.¹ He was the son of Lorenzo D. Townsend and Jane (--?--).

     Josiah Elford Townsend was born on 16 January 1838 at McIntosh Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of Elijah Townsend and Louisa Harris. Josiah Elford Townsend married Ann Howard on 25 January 1855.² Josiah Elford Townsend married Susan Darby Ritch, daughter of John G. Ritch and Lucretia T. Nettles, on 21 January 1869.³ Josiah Elford Townsend died on 4 September 1922 at age 84.³

     Josiah Elford Townsend was born circa 1813 at McIntosh Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of James Townsend and Frances (--?--). Josiah Elford Townsend married Sarah Oliver, daughter of (?) Oliver and Sophia (--?--), circa 1835 at McIntosh Co., Georgia. Josiah Elford Townsend died in 1874 at Jacksonville, Duval Co., Florida.²
     
Biography of Josiah Elford Townsend:

Josiah Elford Townsend is first found listed as an orphan winning land with Frances Townsend, widow, from McIntosh County Georgia in the 1821 Georgia Land Lottery.

He is next found in the 1840 Census of McIntosh County, Georgia (p. 83) living with a female age 20-30, undoubtedly his wife, Sarah Oliver. Sophia Oliver family is living nearby. He is next found in the 1850 Census of McIntosh County, Georgia with his wife, Sarah. By 1860 he had removed to Jacksonville, Florida appearing in that census (p. 249) with wife, Sarah A. and a Ellen Townsend age 30. We do not know who Ellen is but doubt she is a daughter.

By 1870 Josiah has moved to Sanderson, Baker County, Florida where he is Clerk of Court and listed on p. 218 of that census. His wife, Sarah A., mother in law, Sophia Oliver age 72 and twins, Peter and James Townsend age 17 are enumerated with him. He, nor any other members of his family, were found in the 1880 Census.

     Josiah Elford Townsend was born on 30 November 1856 at McIntosh Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Riley Townsend and Dorinda Stafford. Josiah Elford Townsend died on 25 August 1899 at McIntosh Co., Georgia, at age 42.

     Josiah Elford Townsend Jr. was born on 6 August 1881. He was the son of Josiah Elford Townsend and Susan Darby Ritch. Josiah Elford Townsend Jr. married Merle Smith on 15 September 1901.¹ Josiah Elford Townsend Jr. died on 21 May 1924 at age 42.¹

     Julia was born in 1876. She was the daughter of George Washington Townsend and Ellen Bevan. She married Charlie McLeod, .¹

     Julia Elizabeth "Lizzie" Townsend was born in 1843 at Madison Co., Florida.^1,2 She was the daughter of John "Jack" Townsend and Rachel Jane Hill. Julia Elizabeth "Lizzie" Townsend married John Polk circa 1861 at Florida.³
