She married Joseph Francis Odom, , on 5 November 1939 at Brunswick, Glynn Co., Georgia.¹ Dorothy died on 23 April 1989 at Savannah, Chatham Co., Georgia, at age 71. Her body was buried on 25 April 1989 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham Co., Georgia.

     E. W. Tompkins was the son of Benjamin Wright Tompkins and Terethia (--?--).
