Dorothy Lea Sample Bridges, Springfield, Missouri, said that Walter Floyd disappeared as a young man. He is listed in the 1915, 1917 and 1919 Springfield, Missouri, City Directory; in 1919 living with his wife, Lula, at the same address as his mother, Georgana Sample, 1918 Howard, working for the Springfield Gas and Electric Company. The Springfield Republican newspaper shows that he was married to Lula Caplinger, April 7, 1918, in Green County, Missouri. In the 1920 U.S. census Soundex, Lula Sample is living with her grandfather, John Caplinger, 435 West Pine, Springfield, Missouri.

Lucy May Sample was married three times. Husbands (1) and (2) died, names unknown. Irv Spence was husband (3). In 1930 she worked for H. D. Lee Co., Kansas City. Dorothy Lea Sample Bridges, niece of Lucy, remembers visiting her Aunt Lucy in Prairie Village, Kansas. Lucy owned a restaurant and Lucy's younger sister, Nellie, worked for her for a time. Dorothy said Lucy's daughter moved her to Iowa, maybe Sioux City, when she was older and unable to live alone.¹

     Jewell July Sample was born on 4 July 1898 at Kansas, United States. She was the daughter of James Henry Sample and Georgana McClanahan. She married Albert H. Harrison. She died on 22 May 1989 at age 90. She was buried in May 1989 at National Cemetery, Springfield, Greene, Missouri, United States.

     Nellie Lee Sample was born in November 1905 at Kansas, United States. She was the daughter of James Henry Sample and Georgana McClanahan. She died in 1953.
     Biography of Nellie Lee Sample:
Nellie Lee Sample never married. She and her mother moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where Nellie took training at Baptist Hospital to be a registered nurse; they lived at 5525 Enright, University City, Missouri. Nellie died and is buried in the Kansas City area, possibly Overland Park, Kansas.¹

     Jessie Winifred Weitnauer was born on 19 June 1898. She married George Dewey Sample, son of James Henry Sample and Georgana McClanahan, on 8 April 1919 at Springfield, Greene, Missouri, United States. She died on 22 December 1964 at Springfield, Greene, Missouri, United States, at age 66. She was buried at National Cemetery, Springfield, Greene, Missouri, United States.
