Alexander Tompkins Obitutiary [per Jancie Bays]

     Last rites for Alexander Tompkins, who died at the Kilmichael Hospital February 4, were held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Friday, February 5, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Homer McDonald of Poplar Creek officiating. Interment was in Poplar Springs cemetery under direction of - Oliver Funeral Home.

     Mr. Tompkins was born in Montgomery county, May 28, 1907. He had been ill for about a month.

     He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Tompkins, Sr; three sisters, Mrs. J. K. Walker, Mrs. W. T. Greenlee and Mrs. Olen Thomas; five brothers, Jimmie Tompkins, Homer Tompkins, Hugh Tompkins and Tommie Tompkins, all of Kilmichael; and W. E. Tompkins, Jr., French Camp.

     Pallbearers were Wayne Walker,, Billy Tompkins, Clinton Tommikins. Bobby Greenlee, Jimmie Tompkins and Bodean Tompkins.

     Alice was born circa 1859 at Washington Co., Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel A. R. Tompkins and Ellen J. Massey. She married J. B. Allison, , on 1 March 1900 at Washington Co., Georgia.²
