     Claude Tanner was born in 1908 at Washington Co., Georgia. He was the son of John Morgan Tanner and Minnie Lee Scott.

     Clifford was born on 6 August 1907 at Washington Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of Early Benton Tanner Sr. and Gertrude S. Scott.      Clinton Wells Tanner Jr. was born on 22 February 1910 at Washington Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of Clinton Wells Tanner and Cora Lee Scott. Clinton Wells Tanner Jr. died on 11 November 1928 at Washington Co., Georgia, at age 18.¹ He was buried at Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery, Washington Co., Georgia.¹

     Dorthy was born circa 1866 at Washington Co., Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Solomon Francis Tanner and Elizabeth Tompkins. Dorthy Ann "Dollie" Tanner married John Lewis Durden at Washington Co., Georgia.² Dorthy Ann "Dollie" Tanner died at Washington Co., Georgia.

     Early was born on 9 September 1918.¹ He was the son of Early Benton Tanner Sr. and Gertrude S. Scott. His body was buried at Antioch Christian Church Cem., Oconee, Washington Co., Georgia.²

     Early was born on 4 November 1880 at Washington Co., Georgia.¹ He was the son of Solomon Francis "Butcher" Tanner and Martha Ann "Mattie Mae" Tompkins. Early Benton Tanner Sr. married Bertha Orr.² Early Benton Tanner Sr. married Gertrude S. Scott.² Early Benton Tanner Sr. died on 8 March 1939 at Washington Co., Georgia, at age 58. His body was buried at Antioch Christian Church Cem., Oconee, Washington Co., Georgia.
     
Biography of Early Benton Tanner Sr.:

Hughie Tanner, grandson of E.B. Tanner, Sr, remembers growing up on the "home place" in Washington Co., GA, owned by Ma Tanner and Pa Tanner (EB and Trudy). He remembers spending summers working in the cotton fields and how the girls in the family would duck down behind the cotton plants when they would hear a car coming down the red clay roads, not wanting anyone to know they were working in the fields.

     He tells of remembering the family grocery store located on one corner of the family farm. The family owned land at all four corners of a nearby crossroads. However, when he went back to visit (in the 1990's) the remains of the old store were on the adjacent corner. When he asked Aunt Mildred about it, she reminded him that the original store had burned down and then been rebuilt on the existing site.

     Family would work the fields from early in the morning until Ma Tanner rang the dinner bell for the midday meal. It was usually a large, hot meal, quickly consumed. After eating they would turn their straight-backed chairs around and lay them on the floor against the wall, forming a makeshift bed where they would nap until returning to the fields.      Earnest Wyndell Tanner was born on 8 December 1900 at Washington Co., Georgia. He was the son of Clinton Wells Tanner and Cora Lee Scott. Earnest Wyndell Tanner died on 20 May 1968 at Macon, Bibb Co., Georgia, at age 67. He was buried at Macon Memorial Park, Bibb Co., Georgia.¹
