     Samuel Moore Sample Sr. was born on 16 August 1850 at Morgan Co., Illinois. He was the son of William A. Sample and Harriet Moore. Samuel Moore Sample Sr. married Lucy (--?--) in June 1862 at Alabama.¹

     Sarah Sample was born on 27 July 1831 at Morgan Co., Illinois. She was the daughter of Jacob Sample and Mary B. "Polly" Hooser. Sarah Sample married William C. Clark on 21 February 1852 at Morgan Co., Illinois.

     Sarah Sample was born circa 1845 at Illinois. She was the daughter of Washington Sample and Sarah Petty.

     Sarah "Sadie" Sample was born circa 1905 at Texas. She was the daughter of John William Sample and Sevilla Viola Sampson. Sarah "Sadie" Sample married Henry Sly. Sarah "Sadie" Sample died at Oklahoma. She was buried at Oklahoma.

     Sarah "Sally" Sample was born on 3 August 1822 at Bond Co., Illinois. She was the daughter of John Sample and Sarah "Sally" Pruitt. Sarah "Sally" Sample married James Martin Baker Sr. on 12 February 1846. Sarah "Sally" Sample died on 4 September 1914 at Jacksonville, Morgan Co., Illinois, at age 92.

     Sarah A. E. Sample was born circa 1853 at Iowa. She was the daughter of George W. Sample and Harriet K. Garrett.

     Sarah Ann Sample was born on 28 February 1867 at Macoupin Co., Illinois. She was the daughter of George Washington Sample and Lucy Ann Braden. Sarah Ann Sample married Hardin Thomas Bowers on 23 October 1884 at Carthage, Jasper Co., Missouri; The father G. W. Sample of Sarah A. Sample gave his assent to the marriage. Sarah Ann Sample died on 28 September 1943 at Garden Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas, at age 76; cardiovascular, hypertension, thyrotoxicosis. She was buried at Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Valley Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas.

Joplin Globe, Joplin, Missouri, Sunday, March 8, 1936: "Baxter Springs Society. A surprise birthday dinner was held Sunday, March 1, in honor Mrs. Sarah Bowers at her home, three miles north of the city, celebrating her sixty-ninth birthday anniversary. A dinner was served in cafeteria style. Following the dinner the honoree was presented with several gifts. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Chilon Carter and daughter, Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Jud Williams and son, Freddie, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bowers and children, Marie, Dorothy, Roy, Howard and Lloyd, all of Riverton; Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Bowers of Joplin, Mrs. Helen Boyd and daughter, Shirley Sue, Mrs. Jennie Thomas and daughters, Lucille and Mildred, and Roy Terry, all of Webb City, and G. I. Bowers of Baxter Springs."

Joplin Globe, Joplin, Missouri, Wednesday, September 29, 1943: "Funeral Rites Friday for Mrs. Sarah Bowers. Galena, Kans., Sept. 28 - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ann Bowers, 76 years old, who died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Elmer Bowers, of Riverton, will be held at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Shiloh church in the Quaker Valley district. The Rev. Roy Wade will officiate. Burial will be in the Shiloh cemetery, in charge of the Boice Undertaking Company. Mrs. Bowers had lived in Cherokee county 43 years, coming here from Nashville, Mo. She had been ill for some time. Surviving, besides the son, is a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Thomas of Torrance, Calif."¹

     Sarah Ann Sample was born in 1859. She was the daughter of Field Sample and Mary Ann Ribelin. Sarah Ann Sample died in 1877.

     Sarah Catherine Sample was born in 1870. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Sample and Jane Taylor. Sarah Catherine Sample married Isaac Huffman. Sarah Catherine Sample died in 1958 at Pittsburg, Crawford Co., Kansas.

     Sarah Elizabeth Sample was born on 30 September 1874. She was the daughter of Washington Sample and Rebecca A. Sample. Sarah Elizabeth Sample died on 17 August 1875.
