     Biography of Asa Bullard:
Asa Bullard was a Master Mason and was listed as a farmer/stone mason on census records. After the Civil War he moved to Wright Twp. of Ottawa County, Michigan. He lived on 40 acres of land in the very northwest corner of Section 10 of Wright Township. His Post Office address was Reno in 1893. He and his wife, Jane are buried in Big Springs Cemetery, about one mile north of where they lived.

Christiana died on 30 May 1911 at age 78. Her body was buried at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba, Genesee, New York, United States. Her funeral was held at the family home at 3pm. The services were conducted by the Rev. D. Shorts, pastor of the Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Anna S. Leggett of the Bushville Church, who also sang a selection at the grave. The bearers were Eugene Wrigley of Buffalo, Stephen Underhill of Rochester, Howard Isaac of Batavia and James Jones of Elba, all her grandsons..

She was educated in the district schools, Cary Collegiate Seminary at Oakfield, NY, Oakwood Quaker Seminary, then at Union Springs, NY and later located at Poughkeepsie, NY. She taught school for several years before her marriage. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Elba, the Ladies Aid Society and the Missionary Society. and had been teacher of the Parker Class of the Sunday School for 15 years. She was also a member of the Batavia Chapter, # 267, Order of the Eastern Star, The Republican County Committee and a charter member of the Elba Grange. In 1925 Viola was living with her son James and was listed on the census as a restaurnateur.
