Biography of William Pinkney Parker:

William Pinkney Parker enlisted in June, 1861 at Tampa, Florida as a private in Co. K of the 8th Florida Infantry of the Confederate Army under Capt. Wm. Turner. He was captured at Gettysburg on 2 July 1863 and imprisoned for two years at Fort Delaware, New Jersey being released and discharged on oath 10 June 1865 at the close of the war. He claimed and received a pension in 1906 for this service. He claimed to have lived in Florida since 1843, with the exception of 5 years in Alabama.
