Serious Accident
G. W. Kelly, an old and highly esteemed citizen of our county, was seriously injured one day last week under the following circumstances: He was hauling up corn, and as usual drove his team under the shelter over his syrup kettles. He was seated on the corn, and just as he started under the shelter he bowed, as he thought, low enough to miss the sill. This load of corn being larger than usual, there was not sufficient room for him to pass under and the sill struck him on the back of the neck. It was at first thought his injuries would prove fatal but a close examination disclosed the fact that they were not so severe as was feared. We learn he is improving. [Vol. III, p 78
