Joseph was born on 29 January 1872 at Mayo, Lafayette Co., Florida. He was the son of John Kirby Jackson and Elizabeth Jane Hufham. He married Ida Faire Webb, daughter of Barton C. Webb and Martha Frances Lyles, on 18 February 1897.1 Joseph died on 4 December 1954 at age 82.2 His body was buried in December 1954 at Wayfare Cemetery, Lafayette Co., Florida.2
