Biography of Mary Alice Hammond:

Mary Alice was very interested in genealogy and gave me a lot of information on my husband's family. She went with me on many genealogical trips to courthouses, cemeteries, libraries and to visit relatives. One thing that she and I worked hard to find out was her grandmother's mother.      Ruth was born in 1909. She was the daughter of Collier Hammond and Lorena B. Hammond. She married Joseph Scott, son of John Walter Scott and Maude McMurria.¹

     Thelma was born on 29 September 1900 at Berrien Co., Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Adolphus Brown Hammond and Eola Corene Chambless. She married John Quincy Allen, son of John Quincy Allen and Isadore Moore, on 3 May 1919 at Berrien Co., Georgia. Thelma died on 9 August 1982 at Enigma, Berrien Co., Georgia, at age 81.

     Breckenridge Hancock was born circa 1867 at Florida.¹ He was the son of Henry William Hancock and Sarah Caroline Townsend. Breckenridge Hancock married Betty Alexander.¹

     Durham Henry Hancock was born in 1852 at Florida.¹ He was the son of Stephen T. Hancock and Jane Emeline Townsend. Durham Henry Hancock married Eliza Hancock, daughter of Henry William Hancock and Sarah Caroline Townsend.¹
