Hans was born on 14 May 1729 at Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland. He was the son of Abraham Geiger and Catharina Schellig. He married Appolina (--?--), , circa 1755 at South Carolina.2 Hans died on 12 June 1777 at St. Phillips Parish, Georgia, at age 48.

Biography of Hans Ulric Geiger:

Colonial GA Council Journal at Savannah on July 1, 1766 "Read a Petition of Ulric Kegar setting forth that he was at present an Inhabitant of South Carolina but proposed immediately to remove into this Province with his family being a Wife, four children and one Negro in order to settle and cultivate Land ..." On 2 June 1767 Ulrick Kegar was granted 300 acres in St. Phillips Parish. Tradition suggests that Ulrich died "of wounds while fighting" either in Indian forays or in the American Revolution. He may have been a revolutionary soldier.

Children of Ulrick Geiger were: Felix, Abraham, Cornelius, John and Mary. They appear to be all of his children because his property in Bulloch Co., Georgia was divided 5 ways. Bulloch Co., GA deeds: Jan. 16, 1815: Felix Geiger, Abraham Geiger, Mary Hofman and Cornelius Geiger, legal heirs of Ulrick Kegar dec'd. sold to their brother John Geiger, also a legal heir of Ulrick Kegar, for the sole intention that strict justice may be obtained and done to their brother and to prevent dispute and lawsuit, that parcel of land being one-fifth or 60 acres, originally granted 2nd June 1767 to Ulrick Kegar. Wit.: Jacob Geiger, Philip Geiger, and Stephen Denmark, J.P. [Deed book AA, page 288, Bulloch County, GA]
