Irene Marie Dusek passed away July 8, 2010 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 88. She was born March 13, 1922 in Toms River, NJ to Albert and Mary Lazok. The family moved to Cleveland a short time later where Irene spent most of her adult life. She shared much of the responsibility raising her 5 younger siblings. She met Leo Frank Dusek, the family's paperboy, who eventually became her husband. They were married 67 years prior to Leo's passing in November of 2008. They resided in Parma, OH until their move to sunny Florida in 1995. Irene was an exemplary homemaker. She was an excellent cook, baker and seamstress. Mom performed the never-ending domestic duties without complaint. She spoiled dad. She had a fun sense of humor but also taught her 4 kids the importance of good manners, appropriate behavior and a job well done. She managed Leo's home glassblowing business for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, being a school aide and her Cadillac. She and Leo were both active in the Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by their children: Laurel and her husband, Anthony Danna, of Birdsboro, PA., Marybeth and her husband, Alan Mzik, of Brunswick, OH., Leo M. and his wife, Karen, of Nampa, ID.,Thomas and his wife, Deborah, of Tallahassee, FL; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and her remaining family in the Southwest. We would like to thank Dorota Koszyk-Wielgus and her staff at the Good Samaritan Care Center for the personalized and compassionate care given to our mom. A memorial mass will be held Friday, July 30 at 1 p.m. at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Palm Coast, FL.
