     She married George H. Brannen, son of Malcolm Samuel Brannen and Agnes Rebecca Bass, on 15 August 1936.¹ Margaret died on 26 January 2002.

     Margaret was born circa 1824 at Bulloch Co., Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Brannen and Nancy Donaldson. She married Stephen Washington Whitfield, son of John Whitfield and Nicy English, circa 1841 at Lowndes Co., Georgia.

     Maria L. Brannen was the daughter of Samuel B. Brannen and Nancy Ann C. Woods. She married C. J. Holden, , on 6 January 1924 at Taylor Co., Florida.¹

We include Martha as one of the children of Thomas Brannan based on the following: A Martha Leach age 32 is living with the family of Robert H. Brannan in the 1850 Census of Columbia County, Florida. It is assumed that Martha is a sister of Robert as they are of similiar ages. Also Martha Leach clearly is not a sister of Robert's wife, Mary Boatright.
