Brannen Family of Georgia and Florida Note: This genealogy is best read by first reading the Introduction below and then following the suggestions for browsing and viewing these pages. Introduction This is a genealogy about the Brannen's of Burke, Screven and Bulloch County, Georgia. This genealogy includes what we have found of the early generations of Henry Brannen (c1755), John Brannen (c1765), William Brannen (c1765), Thomas Brannen (c1770) and Thomas Brannen (c1794-1865) whom we have found living in late 1700's and early 1800's in Screven County, Georgia. Our research objective is to determine the parentage of these five Brannen's and to determine how they are related to each other. For that purpose we arbitrarily linked these five Brannen's as being the sons of "Progenitor" Brannen. It is hoped that other Brannen researchers can contribute additional information to help sort out these early Brannen's of Georgia. This genealogy is mostly about Thomas Brannen (c1794-1865) and his wife, Nancy Donaldson (1794-1842) of Bulloch and Lowndes County, Georgia and Madison and Taylor County, Florida and their descendants. How To Read This Genealogy This genealogy is presented in a format that is intended to take advantage of the Internet and web browsers to make it easier for the viewer to read. A good place to start (after reading this Introduction) is to read the page on "Progenitor" Brannen, which contains a biography of what we know about this family.
