Burval (Published in 1991) A genealogy of Allen Townsend (1801-1880) and his wife Sarah Briant (1799-1885) pioneers of of Madison County, Florida. The genealogy starts with a brief description of the family of Allen's grandfather, Light Townsend (1735-1801), of Marlboro District, South Carolina. and of Allen's father, John Townsend (1760-1843) of Marlboro District, South Carolina. Each of Allen and Sarah's eleven children are included down through seven generations to descendants living today. This 106 page book contains 394 of their direct descendants; identified by the writers to date. Related families of Caulk, Coody, Duval, Gaston, Florid, Hadden, Sharretts, Smith and Tompkins are included. There is a name index of over 700 names related to this family.
